Roller Bearing Plate

Minimizing the Need for Lubrication on Bearers

Key Features

  1. Incorporates high-quality, domestically produced standard parts in the bearing section, streamlining material procurement and enabling cost-efficiency with faster delivery times.
  2. Modularized bearing section design allows for easy retrofitting and replacement of the unit itself.
  3. Bearings are arranged in a stepped configuration to ensure smooth switching operation of the swich rail(see Fig. 3).
  4. Additionally, an electric snow-melting device can be installed on the side opposite the roller unit.

Structure

The roller bearing plate consist of a dedicated bearer and a roller unit (see Fig. 1).
At the point section, a set of roller bearing plate is mounted on a single sleeper. The number of units is adjusted according to the length of the swich rail, with one set positioned on each side.

Performance Benefits

Outdoor testing (1 million switching cycles*) confirmed the durability of both the bearing and plate without requiring lubrication. The effectiveness of the roller bearing plate was further validated through test installations on both siding and mainline tracks. With regular cleaning and anti-corrosion treatment of the bearing section—conducted alongside standard switch maintenance—the roller bearing plate can achieve an extended service life.

*Tested outdoor in fiscal year 2004
