Turnouts
Simple Turnout
This is the most common type of turnout. It splits one track into two directions.
Simple Turnout (for Shinkansen)
Simple turnouts are specifically designed for Shinkansen to support high-speed operation by incorporating movable-point crossings and other specialized components.
Scissors Crossing
A type of turnout structure that allows trains to move between two parallel tracks via a centrally intersecting track. It consists of four single turnouts and a central diamond crossing.
Crossover
Standard crossover tracks divert from one parallel track to another. The crossover shown in the photo has a unique design that crosses over the neighboring track.
Dual Gauge Turnout
This turnout integrates two tracks of different gauges into a single turnout structure. While standard turnouts use two rails, three rails are required to accommodate two different track gauges.
Run-over Turnout (Self-Restoring)
This turnout is mainly used on single-track lines. When trains are simultaneously approaching from both directions, it is designed to intentionally divert one train off the main track to prevent collisions between the trains.
